Co-Curricular Activities

Different clubs and societies in the college carry out several activities that enable the members of the clubs to develop and get inspired.  The following are the activities of the different clubs and societies.

  • CULTURE AND ENTERTAINMENT

On visitation day a few selected club members perform cultural dances to entertain the parents and visitors who come to school to visit their children.

Through the patron of the patriotism movement, some selected students performed during the pass-out events which entertained the guests at the event.

  • SCOUTING MOVEMENT

All the scouts were involved in providing security at school during different functions like visitation day and cultural gala.

There was the election of leaders in scouts from the 1st patrol to the last patrol for both the boys and girls.

A meeting was held with all scouts and they came up with a consensus that power should be changed.

  • GAMES AND SPORTS

All classes that won different sporting activities celebrated their victory parties. These classes were senior three, four, five and two.

The students also played against the male and female teachers in football and the teachers were beaten.

There was netball training that equipped the school team with good skills in preparation for friendly games in the next term.

Taekwondo club went out for grading and they were awarded certificates and belts according to their performance.

  • DRAMA CLUB

The Drama Club is a vibrant and creative group where students are actively engaging in theatrical arts, developing their acting, scriptwriting, and stage production skills. The club regularly holds meetings to plan performances, and members are dedicated to showcasing their talents through various school events and competitions, fostering a strong sense of teamwork and artistic expression within the college community.

  • SCIENCE CLUB

The club members designed cover page for the manual of the club and also added new innovations.

The students planned to make a volcano. They visited Moropoi to get materials to use for example clay and bottles.

  • PATRIOTISM CORPS MOVEMENT

The club members helped usher and direct parents and visitors during visitation day.

They also had charity work on 13th July, 2024 where they cleaned the food market and the parking shelter as way of maintain hygiene.

The senior one and five were mobilized for the joint pass out which took place on 19th July 2024 at Gulu High School. Their performance was outstanding.

The movement carried out the handover of certificates to outgoing leaders and welcomed new leaders to the club.

  • JOURNALISM AND WRITER’S CLUB.

The club members were engaged in interviewing one of the staff members. The driver will appear on the school’s YouTube channel.

The members also worked with the debating club during the gala to enable smooth competition.

They have also continued to prepare for Martin Aliker’s poetry competition which will be held next term.

The members have also continued to present news during assemblies and also working on the school Lantern which is a monthly publication.

  • DEBATING CLUB

The patron and members of carried out training of different classes for debating, poetry and public speaking.

They also organized debating gala which saw senior for coming in first position in debate and public speaking while senior two came in first position in poetry.

  • ENTREPRENUERSHIP CLUB

The club didn’t have much they did during July. The reason given was there wasn’t any sales made by the club members.

APPRECIATION

I take this opportunity to thank the school management for always supporting the activities of different clubs and we continue to encourage students to be a part of at least one club.
